The Giants Causeway

A UNESCO world heritage sight. The Giants Causeway is a spectacular rock display on the north east coast tip of Ireland. Local folklore claims the sight was built by the celtic mythological giant Fionn MacCumhaill as a cuaseway to Scotland whilst archaeologists describe it as the result of volcanic activity 60 million years ago. However it was built, it is a magical and unique landscape that is a must see when visiting the island of Ireland.

Built during the times of the Anglo Norman invasions of Ireland it was a strategically built fortification to help control the seas to Scotland.
